3 favorite movie soundtracks

The soundtrack of a movie can make it all the more memorable to us. Say you watch a film and it’s pretty good, you’ll remember the movie and that’s that. But if you watch a film that has an amazing musical score, it becomes so much more. You remember the movie, but also the music, one reminds you of the other and vice versa. The musical score can really take the film experience to another level.

What will follow are 3 of my favorite movie soundtracks.

Lets start with the movie “Sunshine.” A film that puts some astronauts on a mission to the dying sun in order to bring it back to life. This movie was good on its own merit, but I believe in my heart of hearts, that if not for the soundtrack and how it was all put together, I wouldn’t have loved it as much as I did. This soundtrack, the speaking over it, everything was just amazing. If you haven’t seen this film, you need to. This scene gives you a taste of what I mean… Wow, just wow!

The next movie to make my list is La Mission. This movie was one of the heaviest movies I have ever seen revolving around the Latino machista culture and homosexuality. It doesn’t hit home harder than when an OG has a gay son. The soundtrack to this film is so good that I am still listening to it today as part of my “mega chillout” playlist. In fact, that’s how this blog idea came to be. You must check out this film. The following scene shows the beauty of our people and how we share time with friends and family. You’ll also get a taste of the music.

Finally, I’m going to take you way back to the 80s for the film “Heavenly kid.” This was one of my all time favorite films. It’s cheesy and has to do with the typical tough guy redemption while helping a nerd. The plot thickens though, but I don’t want to ruin it for you. This has some Bon Jovi, some power ballads and much more. The movie is cheesy heaven, but that soundtrack kicks ass! This scene and the song are one of my favorite ever! I’m fighting back the tears as I watch this one.

For real finally, I’ll take you once again to the 80s and I’ll drop an honorary mention to The Lost Boys for the epic sax player in the beach scene! I LOVE THIS SONG!
