Here is a statement by the actual victim of the vicious Ray Rice elevator knockout. His wife, Janay Rice had this to say:
I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I’m mourning the death of my closest friend. But to have to accept the fact that it’s reality is a nightmare in itself. No one knows the pain that the media & unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret every day is a horrible thing. To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his ass of for all his life just to gain ratings is horrific. THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don’t you all get? If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you’ve succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love you!
You have the individuals who are saying, “Unless you’ve walked in her shoes, you have no idea what it is like to be abused.” Via that logical path, perhaps in her mind she believes he beat her because he loves her. Who knows, it’s like they say, unless you have walked in those shoes! Social media has been quite brutal against this guy, but he deserves that, and then some. Let’s be clear, I’m not saying her sole purpose in staying with him is to wait for nice things, or maybe jack him for half of his fortune once he has a lot of money. Though I’m sure many a stand-up comedian will take that stance. She may seem like a fool for defending this guy, but the truth is that food is being taken out of her mouth too. The bottom line here is that she is still with him, if she’s going to be with him, why not get a nice house and boat out of the deal? Again, I’m not saying that is her reason for staying, but hell, for whatever reasons, she has stayed by this man. I’m sure she wants to live comfortably.
Whatever the true reasons, she’s still with him. From my point of view, if I have the option to be with someone I love, and have them be broke, or rich, I’d take rich. Why not? This guy has potentially lost his meal ticket, the dude screwed up. Unfortunately, the wife, children, and anybody else who was along for the ride loses on this one too. However, I applaud the football team for taking the action they did. Yet, I still question the timing of it. Do you really expect us to believe that you didn’t know about this?
In any case, Janay is the victim here. I feel for her, and I wish that she didn’t get screwed in this situation. The guy is a woman beater, and he deserves all he gets. Sadly, those connected to him will also suffer. That’s the way it goes. Notice how she repeatedly says “hurt us,” as if all this hate is being directed at her too? The hate is not towards her, but she will suffer as well due to the fallout. Who knows if he’s beating her now, blaming her for all of this? None of us know what happens behind closed doors.
Interestingly enough I am currently having a debate with a few individuals who are saying that the NFL overreacted. So I asked those people if they felt that Sterling was adequately punished. Need I even elaborate on the fact that hypocrisy once again reared its ugly face? Some even tried to make this situation about race, never mind the fact that this man KNOCKED OUT a woman! Priorities people, priorities! It’s always about race, right?Share:
