As I rode the 7 train, this man came aboard, clearly down on his luck. This guy didn’t come into the train singing a sob song about his situation, he took a more personal, invasive, intimidating approach. An approach that I daresay most of us did not fancy.
This gentlemen walked up to each person, tapped them and asked them to give him money. Many were women and you can imagine the discomfort they exhibited at not only being touched by a stranger, but having their personal space invaded by this aggressive man.
I watched as he made his way down the row of people on the train. I observed the faces, particularly the female’s becoming obviously irritated at this violation of NYC protocol.
As a human being, I feel for this man, I feel bad for his current circumstances, but I don’t approve of his methods.
