During my Christmas headphone shopping spree, I also tried the Plantronics BackBeat FIT headphones. These things were much better than the Trekz Titanium headphones I reviewed recently, way better. The sound on these was pretty good, though the way they were seated during training shifted often, and with that, so did the bass and music quality. But in terms of sound, they were worlds ahead of those other ones.
They don’t really create a very good seal on your ear, which is good if you want ambient noise, but it sucks really bad if you sweat a lot. Why you ask? Well, where do you think that sweat is going to pool and go to? If you guessed inside your ear, then you guessed correctly. I had to often remove the headphones and bounce on my side to get the sweat out of my ears, cause as you may have already realized, I sweat a lot. If you don’t sweat a lot, these might work for you though, this might not be a deal breaker for some of you, but it was for me.
Another thing I found is that these in ear headphones take my already frequently itchy ears, and make them way worse. That sucks for me, and again, this may not be an issue for you, it’s an Angel specific problem.
Another issue I had with them, were the remote controls. As you can see from the image, the buttons sit on the ear piece, so when you are going to change a song, and have to press, guess who’s absorbing that pressure as you push down on the somewhat non-responsive buttons? If you guessed your ear, once again, you’d be correct. I started to feel pain and became increasingly frustrated at the controls during my workout.
I will say that the headphones stay on during training, they produce good sound when they are properly inserted in your ear, and if none of the points I mentioned here are a problem for you, then give them a try. Otherwise, they are best avoided.
My findings on the @plantronics fit headphones after one workout. Sweat continually enters my ear, and they itch a lot. Music is inconsistent and the controls are kind of uncomfortable. For instance, changing songs, you are pressing against your ear. Not too cool. Returning them. #nyctalking #review #music #headphones
