Pistorius is being released after serving 1/6 of his culpable homicide sentence, 10 months. That’s the law in South Africa, once you serve 1/6 of your sentence, they can release you. This sounds really bizarre to me considering that his reckless actions took a life.
He claims that he shot through the bathroom door because he thought that his girlfriend was an intruder. Though others claim he was angry and did it in a fit of jealousy. I haven’t been following this story closely, but it seems like the law isn’t done with him. They are trying to get Pistorius on an actual murder charge.
None of us really know what happened here, but I’m curious what the gun laws are in South Africa. Would a person who isn’t as famous, and with the ties that he has receive the same treatment? It’s a rhetorical question of course.
Let’s see how this story continues to unfold.Share:
